Earthly Prayer

In lands where emerald forests sway, And azure seas in beauty lay, Yet, heedless hearts in greed's array, Disdain the Earth, in disarray. Mountains high, with snows adorned, Their ancient grace, by man is scorned, With every forest lost and mourned, The Earth's lament, unheard, untorn. Taking from each other Dyin cause we smother Forgetting our brother Damning our mother Stripping all the colour Rivers pure, once life's veins flow, Now choked with waste, their anguish grow, As fields of green to concrete bow, The Earth's despair, in silent woe. Beneath the skies, so vast, so wide, Where nature's wonders once abide, Now plundered, scarred, with none to chide, The Earth, betrayed, by human pride.
