The people's crusade

Armed with knives and pitchforks though lacking in horse and lance. A battle would be a frightening dance. But pious are we and we will take this chance. We could only bring so much food and drink in tow With our thirst increasing we spot something from across the sands. Some rough looking horsemen riding in bands. [Instrumental] [Instrumental] [Verse] We were readying for battle in these foreign lands. Holding our weapons tight with shaking hands. We failed to advance in organized rows, And arrows were hailing from their composite-bows. [Instrumental] [Instrumental] [Verse] On the battle field our fear would only grow. And one of these horsemen noticed my morale was low. He was aiming at me with his trusty arrow-shooting-bow, From an extra long distance clearly just for show. [Instrumental] [Instrumental] Luckily I was not hit though the arrow came near. And then I discovered to my great despair. We were encircled from all around, If you listened for orders screams of death was the sound. [Instrumental] [Break] [Instrumental] [Verse] Oh thankfully there was still some hope to keep. I would not have to stay there to be slaughtered like sheep. [Verse] A small escape not far away. If I could get there I'd live another day. I sprang to my feet and got ready to flee. I eventually got away from the battle alright. Slowly losing the Turks from sight. [Instrumental]
