Beach Weather

Summer is the best season in Ocean State When days are long and warm The air full of moisture The beach beckons From an hour away by car Windows down, music blast We were happy and poor The port of Galilee is off Route One Fishing boats come and go Next to the windmill hotel by the harbor Sun is slanting to the western sky As we dusted off the sand of our back The best pastime in summer is at the beach The best beach food is clam cake And sweet doughboy For a few dollars more we can splurge Buy a couple of live lobsters fresh of the boat My buddy and I were beach bums on weekends During the month of June to August Sometimes we are in the water riding ocean waves Most of the time we just lie on the beach And look at the clouds go by
