Angel's Temptation

In realms where light and shadows play, An angel treads, both night and day. With wings of white and heart so pure, Yet even here, temptations lure. A whisper soft, a silken voice, That speaks of freedom, offers choice. "Why be bound by duty's chain? Embrace the world, forget the pain." The angel hesitates, unsure, Drawn by whispers, sweet allure. In golden halls of heaven’s grace, A longing stirs, a hidden trace. "Why serve the light, and bear the cross? When earthly pleasures bear no loss. Feel the warmth of mortal flame, Taste the passion, play the game." The angel’s heart begins to yearn, For earthly joys, for fires that burn. A fleeting glance, a stolen kiss, A moment’s thrill, forbidden bliss. Yet in the core, a struggle fierce, Between the light and dark’s own pierce. The call of duty, strong and true, Against the temptress' honeyed view. With trembling hands, the angel fights, To hold to virtues, heavenly sights. For in the depths of every soul, Temptation seeks to take control. But angel’s heart, though swayed, remains, A beacon bright through stormy rains. With whispered prayers, with tears unshed, The path of light is bravely tread. For though the temptress calls so sweet, And promises a swift retreat, The angel knows, within the core, That duty's call is something more. A higher love, a sacred trust, That lifts the soul from mortal dust. So with a sigh, temptation fades, As angel’s grace in light cascades. In realms where shadows dare to creep, The angel’s heart will vigil keep. For though temptation's voice is strong, The light of truth will steer along.
