[intro] [solo] [Verse 1] Jesus climbed that mountain, with His followers near, Sat down with the crowd, His message crystal clear. He started to speak, with words so divine, Blessings for the humble, the poor, and the kind. [solo] [Chorus] Blessed are the poor in spirit, heaven's theirs to own, Blessed are the mourners, comfort they'll be shown. Blessed are the meek, the earth will be their claim, Blessed are the hungry, for righteousness they'll gain. [solo] [Verse 2] Blessed are the merciful, mercy they will find, Blessed are the pure in heart, God’s truth in their mind. Blessed are the peacemakers, God's children they'll be, Blessed are the persecuted, for justice they’ll see. [solo] [Chorus] Blessed are you when they insult and abuse, Falsely accuse you, for the sake of truth. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is high, In heaven's realm, where true blessings lie. [solo] [Verse 3] You are the salt of the earth, keep your flavor bright, If salt loses its taste, how can it bring light? You are the light of the world, shining on a hill, A beacon in the night, guiding hearts with goodwill. [solo] [Chorus] Let your light shine before men, let them see your good deeds, Give glory to your Father, in all your righteous needs. Don’t think I've come to abolish the law or the word, I’ve come to fulfill it, every line, every chord. [solo] [Verse 4] You’ve heard it said, “Do not kill,” but I say to you, Even anger and hate can lead you to rue. You’ve heard it said, “Do not commit adultery,” But lust in your heart, is sin, you’ll agree. Love your enemies, pray for those who do wrong, Treat them with kindness, let forgiveness be strong. Build your house on the rock, let it stand the test, When storms come your way, you’ll be safe and blessed.
