While We Wait

Time to put my nose to pavement, my pen to canvas/ prime the engine spark my hippocampus/my heart, soldiers on, though it borders on, damaged/ through the holy spirit is how I manage/let's mature this fruit and I ain't talking bananas/ secure his roots, by nourishing the youth/help them flourish in his truth/ encourage them and feed em good food/no such thing, as "nice girls" and "good dudes"/we're all sinners, some sin we commit without a clue/without a doubt this should raise eyebrows too/ Jesus paid that debt, paved you a path without regret/he even gave you his last breath/he broke his body as daily bread/he was cut off, blood poured out, just as scripture said/ the purpose, to be hot coals of mercy on our heads/he called us to be worthy of his election/one day that fruit will be under inspection/ always be willingly receptive/ humbled and ready for correction/a call to faith, to make an about face, from sin/keep walking the narrow way, oh and by the way/eternity can begin right away/you can enter in, be honored like a veteran, by believing in, what happened, that remarkable day/this is why we position ourselves with christ and pray/ condition us lord through the strife/sharpen our swords, make us salt and light/help me intertwine the prophetic with poetic rhyme/create a picture that captures the times/lyrical capsules preserved like castles, that crumbles over time/it's fine, I'll still give you crumbs and slivers of my mind/ in Hope's that you will succumb to and find/my savior I've interlaced through these lines/realize we are not summed up by our bio on Twitter/we need us some Jesus, he made the blind see and a dumb ass deliver/that's tongue and cheek, excuse me, as I, go get clean, at the river/ all jokes aside I prayerfully hope you consider/ being apart of the family picture/ why stand alone like a single fixture?/come be sewn into the mixture/let us bask in the knowledge of scripture/let our decisions be dressed in wisdom/let us be seasoned and reasoned by our convictions/oh God give me the words that will get their attention/I've found the keys, are you ready to be freed from your prisons?/ oh God why won't these people simply listen/you've warned through profits with visions/ you've mourned the countless losses of your children/we just gloss over it like a band aid on a symptom/our image isn't man made, what did man make? "The Christian"/for Sam's sake, not to complicate or speak hate/ but that overly nice smile, screams fake!/love is an action for Pete sakes/I love fellowship, crackers and cheesecakes/but if your broken, church should be like winning the sweepstake/warmed with milk agape flowing smooth as silk/grace washing clean their guilt/nurse the flower from it's wilted state/through our walks we were rebuilt to personally relate/be still my brethren and wait/ We see the hour is late/on our savior we patiently await/ Amen!
