그대가 진심으로 나의 극락세계에 오고 싶다면, 진심으로 나의 구제를 받아들이고, 그 다음 진심으로 오로지 나의 명호를 불러라. 그대가 이 명호를 부를 때에 마음이 청정하건 청정하지 못하건, 망상 잡념이 있건 없건 전혀 상관하지 않겠다. 다만 각 사람의 근기에 따라 이 명호를 부르되, 시간이 있는 사람은 많이 염불하고 시간이 없는 사람은 적게 염불하며, 비교적 정진력이 있는 사람은 좀 더 많이 염불하고 비교적 게으른 사람은 좀 더 적게 염불하면 된다.
나의 명호를 칭명함은 아미타불의 본원일 뿐만 아니라, 시방세계 모든 부처님의 본마음이기도 하며, 심지어 시방세계의 모든 부처님들께서 권장하시고 칭찬하시고 호념하시는 원이기도 하니라
