Lyrics

[Verse 1] In the heart of the forest, deep and old, Lived Grishnak the goblin, cunning and bold. His profits were dwindling, his greed did swell, To the shrine of the gods, he wove his spell. [Chorus] Oh, Grishnak, trickster of the night, Deceived the gods with all his might. "They’re killing my profits," he cried so vain, The gods misheard, thinking prophets slain. [Verse 2] Under the moon's ethereal light, Grishnak approached, his plan so tight. The gods fell for his clever deceit, Gave him a weapon, oh what a feat. [Chorus] Oh, Grishnak, trickster of the night, Deceived the gods with all his might. "They’re killing my profits," he cried so vain, The gods misheard, thinking prophets slain. [Verse 3] With the sword in hand, he sought his gold, But the people rose, their anger bold. Each strike he made, their wrath increased, His enemies grew, his power ceased. [Bridge] He struck with fury, his greed on display, But trouble followed him, day by day. Enemies gathered, his fortune did fade, The gods returned, their judgment laid. [Verse 4] The gods appeared in a blinding light, Their faces stern, eyes burning bright. "Grishnak, you trickster, we know your game, You sought profit, but prophets you claimed. [Chorus] Oh, Grishnak, trickster of the night, Deceived the gods with all his might. "They’re killing my profits," he cried so vain, The gods misheard, thinking prophets slain. [Verse 5] "For your greed and lies, you shall pay, Your power and wealth, we strip away. No longer will you wield our might, Your trickery ends with this fateful night." [Chorus] Oh, Grishnak, trickster of the night, Deceived the gods with all his might. "They’re killing my profits," he cried so vain, The gods misheard, thinking prophets slain. [Verse 6] Stripped of power, left in despair, Grishnak learned in the cold night air, Greed and deceit lead to downfall, Now he hides, so weak and small. [Chorus] Oh, Grishnak, trickster of the night, Deceived the gods with all his might. "They’re killing my profits," he cried so vain, The gods misheard, thinking prophets slain. [Outro] Never again did he seek their grace, For the gods' wrath left its trace. A lesson learned in the forest deep, Greed and deceit, a perilous leap.
