PCR 산물 증가 시 형광염료의 결합량이 많아져 형광강도가 강해지고,
탐침자는 더 많이 분해되어 형광강도가 강해짐.
실시간으로 이 형광 신호를 측정하고 DNA의 증폭량을 확인,
기존 PCR에 비해 소요시간 짧고 정확도 높아,
하지만 전문 기술, 장비가 필요하여 일부 병원에서 사용이 제한됨.
탐침자를 Target DNA의 염기서열에 맞춰 제작해야해서 번거로움,
하지만 키트를 이용해 감염성 질환, 유전성 질환, 조직이식 스크리닝, 산전 스크리닝 등에 이용,
B형 간염 바이러스 관련 질병 진단과, B형 간염 DNA 정량 측정에 사용됨.
