Verse 1: In the summer of '62, beneath a monsoon sky, Thunder rollin', rain a-fallin', as I let out my first cry. After the big thunder, in the heart of the storm, People heard the cry of a baby being born. Chorus: From India's shores to the land of the free, With hope in my heart, America called to me. From ancient wonders to wide-open plains, I never dreamed I'd be living this way. Verse 2: At sixteen years old, I saw the world with new eyes, Left the home I knew for the Western skies.
