We met back in high school A couple of friends closer than we should But I remembered you And I thought of you after I moved I would come home sometimes And give you a call out of the blue And you always made the time And I knew then that I’d love YOU I joined and moved away An E.G.A. and rifle in my hand But when I came home We dove right in to see where we would LAND Any road would do! Always running it with you Any road was cool! As long as you were riding too It’s darkest BEFORE the dawn But brightest when a SMILE is on Your lips with my NAME! (And I was never the same) We got married so young Didn’t have much but you finished that college Working part time but Schooling full time, with a baby we paid homage We never got held down Always working toward the next steps in life Just the three of us Whenever we could, we made the best of times We’ve had a good life We’ve done our jobs and our best to provide We don’t have anything That we didn’t get standing side by side Any road would do!
