Erik's Dilemma

Verse: Erik lives out in the fields, between the crops and guitar strings, Dreams of freedom, music, beers, but home always demands and clings. “Hey, I won’t let this pass me by!” he claims as he tries to flee, Yet home and work smother his whims, in a chess game of three. Chorus: Oh Erik, struggling to balance it all, Family and freedom, both his rise and his fall. His heart screams “freedom”, but duty calls him back, So he whispers excuses, carrying the guilt of his act. Bridge: Wants to roam wild, be a boy once more, To escape the daily family chore. But each adventure ends in a double bind, Lies for liberty, a moral wrestle in his mind.
