The end of the Uruk period coincided with a similar large climate shift that spanned around 3100 B.C. to 2900 B.C., when the early dynastic period begins. This climate interval of 200 years called the 'Piora oscillation' was a very dry and slightly cooler climate to the previously warmer and more humid 'Holocene climatic optimum' climate that began around the time of Jericho and lasted up until recorded history.
