Ruled King Dasharatha, o'er the land.
His eldest son, the righteous Rama,
Married Sita, his dearest love.

But trouble came, by Kaikeyi's plea,
Rama was exiled, for fourteen years to be.
With Sita and Lakshmana by his side,
Into the forests, they had to abide.

In the forest, Ravana the demon king,
Conspired to capture Sita, causing suffering.

Rama marched to Lanka, his love to regain again.
A mighty war with Ravana was waged,
Rama's arrows, the demon king enraged.
