BANJO
WE NEED:
• medicine stick (a pack of 100 pieces can be bought for a few zlotys on Allegro under the name "ENT sticks", but during your next visit to the doctor (which, of course, I do not wish for you), you can also smile at the doctor)
• jar cap
• 4 rubber bands
• duct tape or other strong tape
• decorative washi tape (to decorate the stick - you can also decorate it differently or not at all)
• scissors
Step 1: Cut the rubber bands. We do this to tie them on the lid, taking into account the fact that the more we tighten them, the higher their sound will be. At this stage, we can even tune these rubber strings by stretching them appropriately. We cut off unnecessary fragments
Step 2: We spread the rubber bands and set them in the appropriate position. And we put tape on them so that they don't move
Step 3: Decorate the stick
Step 4: Stick the stick to the cap
And we play!
🎶 HARMONICA
WE NEED:
• two medicine sticks
• two rubber bands
• toothpick
• paper cut to the width and length of the stick
• possibly washi tape or stickers to decorate the top of the pipe
If you want your own harmonica, it's best to start with this. Using washi tape is quick and effective, so I highly recommend this method.
Step 1: Fold the accordion like a sandwich with cheese (which is a piece of paper) and tie the ends with rubber bands.
Step 2: Cut the toothpick in half, also cutting off the sharp, pointed ends.
Step 3: Insert the two short sticks obtained in this way into the center of the accordion (on the same side of the paper) halfway along its length.
Step 4: Finally, by grabbing both protruding ends of the sticks with two fingers, we spread them towards the rubber bands until the end.
Ready! :)
🎵 MARACAS
WE NEED:
• 2 tanks (or metal) containers
• plastic egg (e.g. from surprise eggs or from creative sound sets you can buy)
• water marks (washi tape)
• a handful of groats (e.g. millet)
Step 1: sound box
In this step you need to create an instrument. Of course, it all depends on what we fill the egg with.
Step 2: handle
Finish the egg filling in the cavity of the spoons and tape them together. The joint of the spoon handles makes for a really comfortable handle.
Step 3: decoration
In the second step of application, "sloppily" but effectively. Now we have its place by decorating our instrument. The more interesting the tape patterns, the more interesting the final effect. But when it comes to application, transparent tape for additional properties - visible dancing in the egg application. You can also decorate the maracas with stickers, markers or paint.
Inside used in various things:
• lentils
• fine groats
• beans
• half
• spinach etc.
Ready? Not for Gramy!
🥁 DRUM
WE NEED:
• empty cereal coffee packaging or other sleeve-shaped packaging
• balloon
• tape to hold the balloon (I used insulating tape) or a rubber band
• something to decorate (I used washi tape, but you can use paint or stickers)
Step 1: Cut the balloon... and this is how our membrane was created
Step 2: stretch the membrane onto the box (now professionally: the resonance box)
Step 3: to be sure, we "hold" the membrane tightly with insulating tape or a rubber band.
Step 4: Decorate as you like and you're done!
The pitch of our drum will depend on the tension of the membrane, so you can explore this phenomenon and make several pieces using different diameter boxes or changing the degree of balloon tension. Also check what its sound is like when the drum is placed on the table and when you hold it in your hand. A pencil with an eraser will work well to play.
