Facade of Love

I feel sick when I think about forever, because I know it’ll never be you, For so long I fought hard not to sever, A love that I knew we outgrew. And maybe I’m just a hypocrite, for loving a man that could lie to my face, Ya, we really fought through the thick of it, now I’ve got a pain I can’t place. I’ve spent years waiting for this to hurt less, I believed I could outrun the pain in my chest, I scream to the sky I’m not worthless, But you didn’t want me, when I gave you my best. New faces just make me miss you, my home, I haven’t given up on finding happy again, And I know since you left me I’ve grown, But I miss feeling safe, and I miss feeling him.
