The Maid and The Crook

[Verse] This, is the tale, Of the maid, and the crook Of the secret she guarded- And the treasure, he took (Whoa) (Oh) (Oh-Oh) [Verse 2] For the stone had been cast, And the cobble, did fall For the price, of a life, Would they pay, for it, all (Whoa) (Oh) (Oh) (Oh) [Verse] For the Crook was a man, who bargained his soul For the price, of his life, would he pay any toll But The Maid, cared not, and freely did give The man, with no soul, yet a reason, to live [Bridge] [Verse] But the man was a Crook, and stole away, her heart His time was up, his price was due and so he did, depart But The Maid, made her mark, and so he promised this; His life was hers, his business done, and sealed it with a kiss [Verse] But the price, was a life, and not his wayward soul; But the Crook, was a Man, and paid his final toll- But The Maid, cared not, and freely did give The Man, with no soul, one last, chance to live [Ending]
