In the halls, draggin' feet, through the day, life's repeat Homework piles, so does dread, in the depths of my bed Dull-eyed stare, locker's clang, all these bells, their harsh pang Hear the drone, in my head, high school blues, painted red With my friends, can't escape, same old jokes, classes scrape Teacher's talk, fades to grey, in my thoughts, far away In the crowd, I'm alone, silent screams, to the tone Counting tiles, on the floor, till the bell, lets me soar Swimming through, sea of faces, broken dreams, empty spaces Binders full, of unseen, paper thin, hopes and dreams [Chorus] We're just echoes in the hall, lost beneath the teenage pall Marching to a tune so bland, in this no-man's high school land
