[Verse] In Uruk's wide Cobbled streets There roamed a man No defeat Gilgamesh With strength so bold Stories ‘bout him still unfold [Verse 2] With Enkidu Wild and free Tamed his heart Made him see They fought beasts and gods of old In adventures rich and untold [Chorus] And they say In the night By the flicker of the firelight Gilgamesh seeks endless life In dreams where ages come rife [Verse 3] Humbaba's roar shook the land Together they made their stand Forests dark They cut through Bonds of steel They both knew [Bridge] Enkidu fell Stars did mourn Gilgamesh's heart Worn and torn He wandered far Deserts deep Restless nights With little sleep [Verse 4] To Utnapishtim's far shore Searched for answers Sought much more A plant of life Wisdom's prize But it slipped from his grasping eyes
