[Verse 1, Lute and Harp] In days of yore, the Lord's grace did abound, "For His mercy endures," the realm would sound. Israel's kin, with hearts so pure, Echoed chants, "His love doth sure." [Verse 2, Lute and Flute] In my plight, to the Lord I cried, He set me free, my fears aside. "No dread shall I feel," my heart did declare, "What can mere mortals take from my care?"
