Saying Goodbye

There once was a girl that I did love, Pure as snow and as a newborn dove. I was close to her to call my friend, I knew our love would never end. We laughed and cried but always knew, That love abounds like morning dew. With futures planned I looked too her eyes, She was a gift from God and my love did rise. Then one morning love was denied, That’s when I found that my love had died. I was angry with God as many could tell, I wanted to die, so he’d take me as well. But after some time, and many more seasons, I stopped asking Him for all of his reasons. I know with God is where she does roam, And I know someday he’ll be calling me home. But after these years I’ll say with a sigh, It’s always been tough Saying Goodbye.
