Hello Tom, are things okay? I have to write this letter today I hope you're healthy over there / I know it's been a few years.... ... Some time has passed since we spoke / You were so mad but I'm holding hope We used to be such good friends, but then our friendship ended... I heard you built a house out there, using nails and scrap lumber you work your farm and make it home, a couple kids of your own you never called, you never wrote / you never came and got the boat and all the memories in my head / my constant source of dread I still remember what we did I don't ever stop think of it Every day and every night All around me reminders.... And every time I see the sun Gets me thinking 'bout what we done You know what this letter is about And why I have to reach out .... I really needed to confess I gave police your new address I showed them where we hid the van I pray you understand....
