Verse 1 Jesus sat among the Pharisees, teaching with care, The law was important, but He went further still there. He warned them not to covet wealth and might, And seek to possess things that aren't in sight. Chorus Oh, beware of greed's dark stain, It can keep us from heaven's gate, and cause us pain. Jesus taught the Pharisees, with a parable so true, A rich man's love for wealth, was what kept him from you.
