Fine and decent gal

Once I met a fine and decent gal Not so far away from here. She had jolly dreams to hide, Same as all our peers, She dreamed out loud, there in the past, But life did as it does, It killed them slowly, one by one, She’s now a splendid, decent gal. I’m sure there are still murmurs, And whispers all around, She was as mad as autumn wind, As thunder and its sound. I am sure that she still wonders, Whether she can or cannot choose To open wide a brand-new door Without presenting an excuse. She lacks mental sanity, Or that's what they fill their gossips with, She lacks reason and thoughtful mind, Replaced her sense with power of will. Now a shadow takes her place, Silently doing as they command. Her dreams were blurred, Her voice was shot, Same as all with all of her desires, They say she's crazy, I am aware. But that bed was settled several lives past. She’s now a phantom, She’s not a thing, She’s just a fine and decent gal.
