This is going to be a bit personal but I feel it’s necessary to share. Over the last couple of months there have been a few men from my ancient past that have attempted to reconnect with me. It’s always nice to hear from an old friend but it’s never quite that simple. They bring with them their drama, woes, and “crazy” ex girlfriends sending me friend requests. They just need a bit of my “calm and nurturing” energy in their trying time. And wow. That does sound very nice. Except that they don’t seem to be as concerned if I have the space or energy to give it. They don’t care or even ask about what I have been through, am going through, or where my mind/heart is at currently. It’s this selfish and one sided vampires that I’m so very tired of. Once it becomes clear that the calm and energy I’ve cultivated are for me and myself, they funk back off into the night from whence they came. Dear, guys. I am a whole mass person with depth and feelings and hurt of my own that I’m continuously trying to process. I’m not a therapist, nor am I some sacred light that can funk you back to wholeness. I care a lot about everything, even your problems, but presently, I care about myself and getting to where I need to be. It’s easy to forget.
