Remembering the Righteous

*Verse 1:* Josiah's name, sweet incense, perfumed air, A memory like honey, a banquet's fare. *Verse 2:* He reformed the people, removed their blight, In lawless days, he restored God's light. *Verse 3:* With heart fixed on the Lord, he stood tall, Amidst sinful kings, he heeded the call. *Verse 4:* David, Hezekiah, Josiah's name resounds, Among great sinners, their virtue astounds. *Verse 5:* Others gave power away, glory to a foreign hand, Jerusalem's destruction, as Jeremiah planned. *Verse 6:* Prophet from the womb, Jeremiah foretold, The city's desolation, its streets turned cold. *Verse 7:* Ezekiel saw visions, chariots in the sky, Job, steadfast in justice, never asked why. *Verse 8:* The Twelve Prophets, bones bring forth new life, Comfort to Jacob, in turmoil and strife. *Verse 9:* Zerubbabel, a signet ring on the hand, Jeshua, temple builder, in the promised land. *Verse 10:* Nehemiah, remembered for walls rebuilt, Gates and bars, homes once again filled. *Verse 11:* Enoch, taken up, a rare fate to find, Joseph, bones cherished, in memory enshrined. *Verse 12:* Shem, Seth, Enosh, their honor proclaimed, But above all creation, Adam's name acclaimed.
