Firm Fixed Price Contract

*(Verse 1)* Well, I got a call from a contractor today, Said, “I need an adjustment, there’s no other way.” Costs have gone up, it’s been quite the ride, Can you help me out, won’t you be on my side?” *(Pre-Chorus)* But I knew the answer, clear as day, From the FAR book, I couldn’t sway. So I took a breath, and said with might, Here’s what the rules say, let’s get it right. *(Chorus)* "A firm-fixed-price contract provides for a price, That is not subject to any adjustment on the basis Of the contractor’s cost experience in performing the contract. This contract type places upon the contractor Maximum risk and full responsibility for all costs and resulting profit or loss. It provides maximum incentive for the contractor to control costs And perform effectively and imposes a minimum administrative burden upon the contracting parties.” *(Verse 2)* The contractor sighed, and I felt the pain, But the rules are the rules, they’re always the same.
