Favored Season

Spring creates what I've desired so long To the warmth of sun forever I belong Cautiously removing myself from winter's erne Eyes slowly adjusting to sunlight's return Rejoicing openly I embrace her coming Appreciating the warmth she is summoning Dancing from early morning into night Celebrating her presence after winter blight Oh what warming light she brings to me Signaling the end of darkness does she Spring you are my favorite time of year Creating the hope of life I hold dear You come and wash the darkness away Diminish the long shadows for day Listening as robins sing of winter's demise Hearing the voice of spring I feel alive
