If my house was haunted, I think, at first, it could be intimidating to have something untrustworthy stirring around the house, making sounds at night, or expressing derangement, when I'm just trying to be a homeowner. Yet, eventually the ghost is like an unwanted roommate; kinda annoying, not really paying any bills, doing what gives them pleasure with the space, but not really being very considerate of others. I'd be like, "man, can you chill out, tonight, because my parents are visiting, and I haven't mentioned the hauntings in awhile, so they might not be ready for the inconveniences."
