My Laments on the Pavement

Trying to hold it together, But it won't stay. Trying as hard as I can, But we don't fit. Forever or never, What could I say? If I had changed before, Would you have stayed? If I had told you All the things you meant to me, All my insecurities, Maybe you would still be there. Under the street lamp, With or without you, For once, I'll be myself. I'll try to tell you, I didn't mean it that way. What should I say now? Farewell or I'll stay away? You made me change, Or better yet, I changed for you. So in the rain, I'll wait for you. Us along the street, My laments on the pavement, What if I had changed? Would it be different?
