My Shepherd

In the land of the Psalms, where the verses do gleam, There’s a famous old chapter that’s part of a dream. It’s Psalm twenty-three, with a rhythm so bright, So let’s dive right in, and bring it to light! The Lord is my shepherd, a guide who is keen, He leads me with care, and I’m never unseen. In pastures so green, where the grass is so lush, I lie down and rest, in a peaceful soft hush. By still waters I wander, so calm and so clear, Where my soul finds its calm, and there’s nothing to fear. He restores all my spirit, He makes me so glad, In paths that are righteous, I’m never so sad. Though I walk through the valley, so dark and so deep, With shadows and fears that make others not sleep, I will fear no evil, for I know I’m not lone, For Thy rod and Thy staff, they’re my comfort and home. A table Thou preparest, right before all my foes, With oil on my head, and a cup that just flows. Goodness and mercy, they follow each day, And I’ll dwell in Thy house, come what may! So there’s Psalm twenty-three, with a rhythm so grand, Where God is our shepherd, and we’re safe in His hand. With green pastures and still waters, and blessings abound, In His loving embrace, we’re forever found!
