Kuchisake-onna (Slit-Mouthed Woman): A legendary figure from Japanese urban horror, said to be a beautiful woman whose mouth was slit from ear to ear by her husband. She now roams the streets, wearing a surgical mask to hide her grotesque smile, and asks victims if they think she's beautiful. If they answer "no", she kills them. If they answer "yes", she removes her mask, revealing her horrific smile, and asks again. If they still answer "yes", she lets them go, but if they answer "no", she kills them. Other notable Japanese urban legends: Teke Teke: A ghostly woman who crawls on ceilings and floors, making a "teke teke" sound with her hands. Hanako-san: A spirit that haunts school bathrooms, often associated with a young girl who died in a bathroom. Aka Manto (Red Cape): A spirit that haunts public restrooms, asking users if they want a red or blue cape. Choosing red leads to being sliced in half, while choosing blue leads to being strangled.
