Forward and Onward

I have walked forward and onward for so long, broken memories, anger, hate and glass lining the ground in shame. I've been lost in this void of shadows as my steps echo forever onwards Nothing around me matters as it holds me down, keeping my flaming wings tied and broken. [buildup to drop] Lightning crashes around me as buildings clash inside my own mind, the void sky glowing static with a blue moon smiling down upon me. It haunts me, never leaving, the memories of my life. Swirling around me. [loud] The fights, neglect and anger scream at me with immense pain and suffering. I try running but my steps echo louder as buildings stare. I see the future the world wants to give to me, I don't want it, I don't want to be a hero. Ghosts of options that I have stare me down, begging forgiveness, pleading for hope. [guitar and drum rise] the screams are deafening me, I try to fly but I hit an unseen ceiling, the blue moon still smiling down upon me, harsher. I reach out my hand full of fire to light up my way, I want to speak but I'm unable to. I continue to run beyond where it can't echo in hopes of finding my own soul. Through the depths of it all, broken connections and a broken soul. Other than the moon and myself its me on my own. maybe one day I will escape my own mind but for now I will continue to run forward and onward.
