To the Canaan

In the land of Egypt, oppression's chain, Moses rose, God's call to proclaim. A babe in the reeds, Pharaoh's decree, Raised in privilege, yet his heart was free. Burning bush on Horeb's peak, God spoke to him, words to seek. "Go, Moses, deliver my kin, From bondage to freedom, from despair to begin." With staff in hand, ten plagues unfurled, Egypt trembled, the Red Sea swirled. Miracles witnessed, hearts ablaze, The Israelites followed, in awe and praise. Through the wilderness, they wandered far, Guided by God, beneath the star. Manna fell like morning dew, Water from rock, a testament true. Mount Sinai, where laws engraved, Covenant made, their souls saved. Forty years, trials endured, Moses led them, by faith assured. At the edge of Canaan, a promised land, Moses gazed, the journey grand. Yet beyond Jordan, his time drew nigh, To the mount of Nebo, where he would lie. "Joshua, lead them," Moses said, As the people mourned, tears shed. A prophet revered, his legacy grand, Moses, who led with God's guiding hand.
