Matt 9:09-13 Eating with Sinners

[Bass solo] [Verse 1] As Jesus went on, He saw a man called Matthew, sitting in the tax collector’s booth; (Jesus said to him), “Follow Me!” (and Matthew followed; leaving all). (How could HE? Such a sinful man ) [Chorus] “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Why is your teacher dining And speaking with sinful man? [Verse 2] (Jesus) was in the house at the table for dinner, (in Matthew's house, reclining) then many tax collectors many sinners came and were dining (sinners eating) with Jesus (sinners dining with) His disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, [Chorus] “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Why is your teacher dining And speaking with sinful man? [Verse 3] When Jesus heard this, He said, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but (instead) (it is) those who are sick. [Chorus] “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Why is your teacher dining And speaking with sinful man? [Verse 4] But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire compassion (mercy) and not sacrifice,’ I desire compassion (pity) But go and learn what this means: for I did not come to call the righteous, but I came to call the sinners.” (with compassion, pity, and mercy) [Bridge] The Teacher has come calling NOT righteous, but sinners Speaking, and dining, With sinners (Mercy) laughing, and teaching, with sinners (Pity) Healing and saving the sinners (compassion) Dining with SINFUL MAN [Chorus] “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Why is your teacher dining And speaking with sinful man? “Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?” Why is your teacher dining And speaking with sinful man?
