Eternal Flame of the Sun

Ra, the sun god, rose in might, On his bark, he sailed through night, Born from chaos, shining bright, Guiding Egypt with his light. At dawn he rises, eastward glow, Banishing the dark below, Skyward journey, day by day, In his splendor, gods obey. Falcon head, his gaze is fierce, Through heavens vast, his rays pierce, By midday's peak, his power reigns, Life and death, his touch sustains. Apep lurks, the serpent foe, In the underworld below, Ra's fierce battle, every eve, Darkness falls, yet we believe. Sekhmet's roar, his wrath and might, In her form, his rage ignites, Yet his mercy, Hathor's grace, Softened hearts, her gentle face. As Ra descends, the sky grows dim, Stars awaken, hymns to him, In his cycle, strength renewed, By his light, the world imbued.
