Nan. The last time I saw you We laughed. Me and Robert sat next to you, I forget what we said, But I remember We laughed. That's what I will remember the most. Not just the holiday's in Beccles And watching you play bowls. The fry ups in the morning, Or seeing you knit clothes. Speaking of which, Those Christmas jumpers we used to get, We're expertly made, But they itched every bit. In later years our Moments became less frequent. This didn't mean our relationship Was weakened. It meant the time we spent talking Was about the things that were important. We spoke of the past and of the day, We spoke of the future, And how you worried in your way. You would tease, and me straight back, We laughed Nan. And I'll never forget that. You saw your grandchildren grow, And some of us had children our own. Although they won't get to spend with you, As much time as I did. You'll not be forgotten, as we remember how you lived. You'll live within our stories and memories, And generations to come. You'll not be forgotten Nan even though your gone, Because the memories of laughter will always live on.
