[Verse] It all started with a $2 rose It all started when I was all alone I was sitting in my bed, minding my business when a knock at the door gave my stomach a sickness I crept out into the hallway My body wouldn’t let me stay I just hoped that my curiosity wouldn’t be the death of me Needless to say, it very much didn’t I walked to the door and I’m grateful I did it I opened the door and there was the girl of my dreams with a $2 rose in hand, for me, it seemed [Chorus 1] But, this is not your ordinary autobiography We didn’t live together ever after happily It was fun while it lasted but my dreams turned bare The life I thought I wanted with her became a nightmare [Verse] But I pushed through the rubble I pushed through betrayal I pushed through until soon a new dream entered the scene I heard another knock at the door I debated opening it, I remembered before Needless to say, I did it anyway I opened the door maybe 'cause of fate Standing there was a girl We shared a head full of curls I didn't have many dreams but she held a $2 rose for me, it seemed I didn’t know at the time but later, came to find She was standing there in front of me because I was the guy of her dreams [Chorus 2] But this is not your ordinary autobiography We ended up living together ever after happily It was fun and it lasted, and my nightmares became dreams The life I thought I wanted with her became a reality [Outro] Because I was the guy of her dreams Because I was the guy of her dreams Because I was the guy of her dreams Because she was the girl of my dreams
